Welcome to Arrows & Traps Theatre Company.  

 

We produce ambitious, alternative and unashamedly modern takes on classic texts through character-driven narratives, visual acuity and ensemble practices.  The result is arresting, vivid and vibrant whilst being anchored in the original's language and intentions. 

 

Our mission is to take a 400-year-old texts, literary prose masterpieces, and little-known narratives from history and turn them into intelligent popular entertainment for 21st Century audiences.

 

Our previous productions have garnered us 22 Off West End Award Nominations, including  - Best Production, Best New Play, Best Director (II), Best Actor (II), Best Set Design, Best Choreography, Best Supporting Performance (VI), Video Design, Sound Design, Best Costume & On Comm Finalist.

In 2019, we were honoured to receive support from Arts Council England to begin touring our work nationally and subsequently to move into international streaming of our productions.

In 2020, we won Best Production for CHAPLIN: Birth of A Tramp at the Standing Ovations Awards for London Pub Theatres Magazines.

Since 2021, thanks to our streaming services, our work has been seen all over the world, by thousands of people.

We promote an open, responsive and energised process in rehearsal with our actors and creatives, free from judgement, and we use a spectrum of physical techniques and musical inclusions, coupled with detailed text work to develop an emotional, physical short-hand.
